Responsible Gaming

Gambling at The Ville is intended solely for entertainment purposes and should never be viewed as a source of income or financial solution. The Ville is committed to promoting a safe and enjoyable gaming environment while encouraging responsible gambling practices among its players.

Core Philosophy

At The Ville, we recognize that gambling can be an enjoyable pastime; however, it is essential to approach it with caution and mindfulness. Players are encouraged to view their engagement with online pokies as a form of entertainment rather than a means to achieve financial gain. Understanding the nature of gambling is crucial in maintaining a healthy relationship with gaming activities.

Self-Control Tools

The Ville offers a variety of responsible gambling tools designed to help players maintain control over their gambling activities. These tools include:

• Deposit Limits: Players can set limits on the amount of money they deposit within a specified timeframe, allowing for better financial management.
• Loss Limits: This feature enables players to specify a maximum amount they are willing to lose during a gaming session, helping to mitigate potential financial distress.
• Wagering Limits: Players can establish limits on the amount they wager, ensuring that their gambling remains within a comfortable financial range.
• Session Time Limits: This tool allows players to set a maximum duration for their gaming sessions, encouraging regular breaks and responsible play.
• Cooling-Off Periods: Players can opt for a temporary break from gambling, providing a chance to reflect on their habits and regain control.
• Self-Exclusion Options: For those who feel they need a more extended break, self-exclusion allows players to restrict access to their accounts for a set period.

Self-Assessment

Recognizing early signs of problematic gambling behavior is crucial for maintaining a responsible gaming experience. Players are encouraged to reflect on the following questions:

1. Do I often gamble to escape from stress or emotional issues?
2. Am I frequently chasing losses in an attempt to win back money?
3. Have I experienced feelings of guilt or anxiety related to my gambling habits?
4. Do I find myself gambling more than I initially planned?
5. Have I neglected personal, social, or work commitments due to gambling?
6. Am I relying on gambling as a source of income?

If players find themselves answering ‘yes’ to any of these questions, it may be an indication of problematic gambling behavior, and it is advisable to seek support.

Protection of Minors

The Ville prioritizes the protection of minors and employs several safeguards to prevent underage access to its online gambling services. These procedures include:

• Age Verification: All players must provide accurate personal information during registration, including their date of birth, to verify their age.
• KYC Checks: Know Your Customer (KYC) processes are implemented to ensure that players are of legal age and to prevent minors from accessing gambling services.

External Help

Players who may be experiencing difficulties with gambling are encouraged to seek professional support. Several organizations offer assistance, including:

• GamCare: Provides information, advice, and support for anyone affected by gambling-related issues.
• BeGambleAware: Offers resources and guidance to help individuals make informed decisions about their gambling habits.
• Local Support Services: Players in Australia can access various local support services and hotlines that specialize in gambling addiction and recovery.
